interview wear

i do not want to interview in a suit. since i have no intentions on ever working in a corporate environment again - i dont want to make the investment.

what are some suggestions to what would be appropriate for an interview in lieu of a suit?

Re: interview wear

What field are you interviewing for and what is considered appropriate in that field? If it's not something that requires a suit for the interview, I would suggest that you still do something business appropriate--examples might be:

Dress slacks, close toed pumps, dressy sweater/button down/top

Knee-length skirt, similar tops....

Re: interview wear

what about a shift dress with a cardigan and nice heels and a pearl necklace

conservative, professional, yet an outfit (or separates) that you can wear again

eta i dont think a button dow nand pants do it for an interview. i think you need to add a dressier touch. you are trying to impress them and outfit can make or break you.

this is more what i was looking for. it really doesnt matter WHAT field you are interviewing in - i was just looking for options other than a suit. i was actually considering shift dress - im glad you agree.

i think marissa was asking probably becasue if its, like, a fashion field or art/design, that conservative accessories may not be the best bet- you are better off with something more funky/artsy on an interview.

if its a regular job, stick with conservative.

good luck!!!!

Yes and no - It absolutely matters what field you're interviewing for - If you're interviewing for an corp attorney or an I Banker position - you wear a suit, whether the daily routine is bus casual or whatever, you STILL wear a suit to the interview ..........

Glad you found something you're comfortable with - GOOD LUCK on your interview !!!!
