IF and Focusing at Work
Does anyone else feel that IF has affected their ability to concentrate and focus at work?
While IF has definitely affected my non-work life, my real issue is that I am having a hard time focusing at work. I feel like I am constantly thinking about or stressed about IF related issues and I am constantly trying to do more research. I feel like its consuming too much of my brain during the day!
I'm still new to this but I really need to deal with this issue ASAP before it really effects my work!
Anyone else feel this way? Any tips on how to handle this?

Oh absolutely....lucklily I have a boss who went through the same exact thing as me so she "gets it" but I try to really keep busy and just dive into my work...that's the only thing helps me. And just focusing on what I can control and not the things that I cannot.

I too find solace in diving into work. For me, its the only way. I feel like I lead a double life in some ways. No one knows what is really going on and that hurts but I get through it. Let it out and talk about it when you get home.

I agree with the other ladies. While it is tough to focus sometimes, I like going to work because it lets me forget about this IF junk for a few hours. Some days it is harder than others.

Re: IF and Focusing at Work
I do find that IF does consume a lot of my time at work & even at home. I guess bc I am still new to it all, I am trying to figure out the best plan for us. I am lucky my boss understands that there are days I am just "out of it" If I am very busy, I don't even think of it...

Re: IF and Focusing at Work
Oh yes, it was really bad there for a while. But it was really starting to consume my life, in every way, so I couldn't focus on work, my family, my own happiness outside of fertility. Therapy certainly helps for me - I talk to my heart's delight about it with her and I feel less burdened when I walk out. And a few months ago, I decided NO MORE ONLINE RESEARCH! I was driving myself absolutely batty and would start hyperventilating everytime I read something new, convinced that was my affliction.
So now I have a rule of no online research, and let me tell you, I'm SOOOO much more relaxed as a result.

I definitely think the online research is one of my biggest problems!!! It is especially bad because I am constaintly trying to figure out my "unexplained infertility"!!! I have a few minor issues, but nothing that they can conclusively say is causing my infertility, so I am in the category of "unexplained infertility" for now! So frustrating!!!!

I have the same problem, and add on top of that, I was able to conceive a child 3+ years ago with no problem, it drives me insane. At one point I just had to let go, with the understanding that these things are just so nuanced, and as of now, there's so much that's still a mystery in this field, that sometimes there are simply NO answers. So now my focus is just living in the moment, enjoying what I DO have, and focusing on the proactive steps we are taking to get pregnant, rather than focusing on all the what ifs and what could it possibly be.

Re: IF and Focusing at Work
I haven't been able to fully concentrate on our business for the past year. I am on these boards WAY too much. I can't seem to stop myself. I started giving myself time limits, like 30 minutes in the morning. That has really helped but I am sooo behind. I cannot seem to get any enthusiasm to get anything done. But, I also have no one in the office with me during the day so I think that makes it worse for me.
I do not do research anymore also. Hours would go by and all I'd get would be a headache and crazy info.
