Going off the pill...

DH and I are not ready for TTC yet but I am so sick and tired of being on the pill and all of the side effects.

Did anyone swear off of the pill forever after not being on it? I have a sample of the Nuva Ring to try but I'm almost thinking of not using it after researching side effects.

Thoughts?

I've been on BCP for over 10 years... I loved it at the time through college, dating, all my 20's etc. Now I'm 31 and just got off the BCP in April... what a difference! It took a while to start to O and get my cycle regular so I think after I eventually get prego I don't think I'll go back on the pill. Maybe after my 2nd... who knows when that will be.

i have sworn off the pill forever!! i hated the negative side effects it had on me - mood swings, loss of sex drive, etc. i went off last July and used the fertility awareness method for BC (charting to determine your fertile time and then using another form of BC at that time, like condoms). worked great for me, and i learned so much about my body. the only thing i miss are the short periods and my face definitely breaks out more now.

I'm the opposite--I've been off three months or so, and I MISS being on the pill. I loved my completely regular, short cycles, my clear skin, etc. I am breaking out like a prepubescent boy.

when we're ready to ttc i'll be going off the pill after 12 years on it....
i'm a little nervous about my hormones regulating themselves and the acne...
but it'll be worth it in the end....
