TMI - Discharge after going off BCP
Did anyone else's discharge change after going off BCP? I never really noticed discharge while I was on the pill, but last night I wiped (sorry, TMI) and there was a thick, clear, unscented clump - almost like a jelly or gummy consistency. Has anyone else experienced this? Thanks!

absolutely! that's called cervical muscus (CM). i believe BCP dries up the CM and that's why you don't see it. you will notice that your CM will change over the course of your cycle from sticky to creamy to clear and stretchy. the clear and stretchy kind (looks like egg whites) is the most fertile.

It's so strange ... I'm almost 30, I've only been on the pill for 5 years, and I've never had it like that before! Usually it's more 'fluid'. I didn't realize the effects the pill had on my body!
Thanks for the response. I was a little worried at first that it was some type of infection!

OMG... that's so strange you said that b/c I remember the same thing happened to me when I got off BCP. It never happened again so I just brushed it off.

omg! i'm sooooo glad you posted this! i actually just logged on to ask pretty much the same question!
DH and i are not TTC yet but i just stopped my bcp (my period ended 2 days ago). tonight when i wiped there was a clear discharge that i've never seen before. i was so freaked out!
so, this is normal??!?!? :)

It's totally normal. I was on the pill for 9 years. It really dried up my CM. Within two weeks of going off the pill, I noticed a big increase in CM.
