Pre TTC question
Hi ladies:
We are not TTC yet, going to wait about 6 months (wedding is in 3!)....however I went to my gyn last week and mentioned that after the wedding I wanted to go off BCP b/c we'd want to start trying. I also asked about prenatals and he said a good multi vitamin with at least 400mcgs of folic acid would be sufficient. Anyone else's doctor give them this advice?? I just want to make sure I'm doing the correct preparations.

sounds about right, maybe b/c you're not totally ready yet TTC, but getting your body prepared for what it needs.

That's exactly what my doc told me as well. Now that I'll be TTCing next month I started prenatals, but I was taking a multivitamin before.

It sounds right to me. Before we TTC our first child (DS), I went off the pill in July and started prenatals immediately. We got pregnant with him in October.
We're TTC#2 now and I started prenantals this month. I take CitraNatal with DHA. It's the new prenatal from Citracal.

When I discussed TTC with my OB/GYN, she recommended I start taking a multivitamin at least 3 months before TTC. I switched to prenatals as soon as I got a BFP.

That's what my Dr. told me last year when I went for my annual exam.
I was taking an appropriate multi-vitamin prior to our conversation anyway.

My doc told me the exact same thing. I continued taking my multi-vitamins along with a folic acid supplement.
