For those that have had a D&C...
I've been so focused on the surgery where my tube was removed, that I almost "forgot" that I also had a D&C done at the same time (Actually, it was done first to verify whether there was any pregnancy tissue in the uterus in addition to what was in my right tube, which there wasn't).
Anyway, how long did your doctor advise you to not BD after your D&C? I was @ 7 weeks at the time of surgery, and my doctor advised us to not BD for 2 weeks. That seems like a kind of short time to me, and as much as I miss BD'ing with DH, I am kind of scared to start it up again. It has been 8 days, so if I follow my doctor's advice, we should be able to BD next weekend. Does 2 weeks seem like a really short time to you?

2 weeks seems short. i was in no means even ready for that, although I did have surgery where it was done laproscopically and had a tumpor removed from a tube, part of my ovary removed along with an ovarian cyst. He did the D&C just to test for any abnormalities.
He told me the same thing (2 weeks) but i would say i waited at least a month, i was not in the mood and i was in pain from the surgery incisions. in addition, after my D & C, I was bleeding for over a week anyway.

Thanks - it is never TMI!
I had the D&C and laparascopy too - the results are what led to the ultimate removal of my right tube. I am with you, I don't know if I'll be ready in 2 weeks. It seems like an incredibly SHORT amount of time, whether that is purely psychological or not!

I hear you! I tihnk when they say 2 weeks, you are past the point of doing any physical harm, but psychologically most people aren't ready by then... and the laprascopy was so much more painful then they ever let on. that was worse than whatever they did once they were in! I took off 6 school days from work, plus the weekends before and after and looking back, i still think i went back too soon! i think it takes a lot longer than the doctors tell you to really heal and feel back to normal. take your time...

i was told 2 weeks as well...and i was 9 weeks along. It didn't hurt...i was more nervous than anything.

we waited longer than 2 weeks b/c I bled for about 3weeks. I was more nervous than anything... I would wait until you feel comfortable. BD is supposed to be an enjoyable thing.

I was told 2 weeks but I didn't wait the full 2 weeks It didn't hurt at all.
I also heard that afte a D&C that you are more fertile bc the lining is fresh. I'm not sure if it's true though.

My doc told me to wait 2 weeks, as well, but I believe that I waited for about 3 1/2 weeks. I had no libido for a while, though, so I was in no rush...I think that it was a mixture of hormones & fear that made me wait...
