Our new boy!
I posted last week that we got a new dog, a Shih Tzu. Well, between then and now, he's been through a lot.
Boy, he has had it rough. I feel so bad for him.
When we got him, we knew he had cataracts and was blind (still sees shadows). The day we went to fill out the application for him and bring him home, we noticed his eye looked funny. We asked about it, but they said it was because of his cataracts.
Long story short, the vet said his eye ruptured and needs to be removed We went to the specialist the next day, and she confirmed this. I can only imagine how much pain this poor dog was in! He didn't show it at all.
His surgery was monday. He'll be wearing an E-collar for the next 2 weeks until he gets his stitches out.
The 1st 2 days after the surgery were hard...He wouldn't eat, drink or poop and he looked like he was in a lot of pain. We were really worried. He is doing much better as the days go by and we are starting to see more of his real personality. He is such a sweet dog (but he can be a bully to our other dog and cat)
