Love MoMA/modern stuff.... so we bought a flensted mobile (it's a pretty famous mobile company who primarily makes mobiles for adults / high-end design......
(I also love fish, hence our selection!)
What I love about it is that it's light and gently moves with the air in the room... no batteries or buzzing. it's very peaceful and soothing.... Image Attachment(s):

is it true that the you are really supposed to mount the mobiles to the wall and not the crib. when we bought our crib this is what the guy was telling us for safety reason and all. I guess i can see the logic just seems wierd and soo non traditional. LOL

Even as a new Mom I must tell you that the Tiny Love ones are great. DD starting looking at it around 3-4 weeks old and began smiling at it shortly after. It was one of the first things to interest her, besides people and the ceiling fan!

I like that and I don't necessarily need one with music as I have a cd player for their room. You have time to find me one with birds? My Mom made a really cute knitted one with birds on it but she only made one and now is all wrapped up in baby clothes and blankets so I will put that over the changing table
