My FET and Melville monitoring?

Dr K be away for the next 3 weeks after today the PJ office is MOVING to Stony Brook and will not be taking appointments until Sept. The earliest appointment I could get to go over my cycle and discuss my FET was 9/8 in Melville! Not that the guy shouldn't take a vacation but may be he shouldn't do it right when he is moving any office.

Anyway, luckily I decided in my mind to take a month off b/c Dr K is not going to be around at all anyway. Luckily even though I have to wait for the appointment it won't delay my FET. But it is annoying. The PJ office said I will likely have to go to Melville for all monitoring. Can anyone who goes to Melivlle how bad it the wait is in the morning?

Re: My FET and Melville monitoring?

I just finished cycling in Melville. During the week, I waited no longer than ten minutes, if that. The weekends were a long wait though since it is the only office open on the weekend.

I think its good to take a cycle off and give your body a rest. I did not to that with my 2nd IVF and I always thought I should have. But, who can have the strength not to do a cycle when they tell you you can?

Re: My FET and Melville monitoring?

Melville is not a long wait @ all during the week. The weekend was a little longer, but i always showed up around 8am and it was fine.. I always found taking time off helped a lot, and i always let the appts. be made when they could, i kind of looked @ it as someone telling me then needed to be then, KWIM? Good LuckChat Icon

As everyone is saying, Melville is fine during the week but on weekends expect it to take about and hour and a half for blood and sono. DH and I were there Saturday and Sunday this past weekend at 8 AM and both times took an hour and a half.

Yes! First I heard of it too. They are moving to the med park on 347 by the Burger King. I am more worried about the wait being longer if the PJ office is closed b/c it will be more similar to the weekend with 2 offices going to 1.

It won't be as bad as the weekends because now 3 offices go to Melville on Sat and Sun. As an aside, I heard from Dr. B that the Lake Success office is going to be rennovated soon.

I don't know when he is going away. I do know this was his last day in PJ. But he is only there in Wed. I am a little ticked that he didn't mention this when I spoke to him on Monday about my beta. B/c I did tell him I wanted a follow up to disucss my ivf. I didn't know it wouldn't be until Sept!Chat Icon

Re: My FET and Melville monitoring?

Also.. dont worry about the FET monitoring... I think I went in a total of three times my entire cycle before transfer day. It is SOOOO much easier than a fresh IVF

That's the truth....also, I heard that they were moving months ago. Dr. K told me himself. They don't need all that room in Pt. Jeff anymore. I don't think the transition will be that bad since they are a secondary office anyway.
As far as Melville monitoring during the week - the waits aren't bad at all.

Also, I thought they always took a few weeks off in August...I know they did the last two years...I guess you only know that if you having been going there forever, though.Chat Icon
