When to cycle
I spoke to th IVF coordinator today. We were considering co-culture but now we're not. Dr. Davis is not recommending it for my first time.
So we are away Aug 15-24. I am due for AF on Aug 15. If I'm away, can I still cycle in Sept or do I have to wait for the October cycle?
She said that it depends on my protocol. I won't know that until Friday or Monday since the oncologist has to weigh in and that's tomorrow night.
What do you think? I know there are tons of protocols starting with estrogen or BCPs..etc..

Re: When to cycle
Did you say they were concerned with the amount of eggs you'll get while being stimmed?
If they are, I'm not sure if you'll be surpessed at all, they may not even do BCP the month before. But, even if you get AF on 8/15 you should definitely get into the September cycle. You just won't start until after your September AF. It all depends on whether or not they have you doing BCP.

Re: When to cycle
Their cycle cut off in Sept is the 23rd.
Yes, I'm older and presumed to be a poor responder or poor ovarian reserve but who really knows. I've never done it before.
I guess I could get all my meds in a day and take an IVF class next week before I go away but I couldn't be monitored. Am I right in assuming that's not going to fly?
eta: I would probably get AF then on Sept 9 or 10.

Start October so we can do our IVF cycle together
that would be fun. We could complain to each other how sore our butts are from the injections.

I think what would be MORE fun is to get pregnant at the same time and complain about morning sickness together

No, that's not going to fly. You absolutely need to be monitored while stimming. See if you can get into the class though now to get one thing out of the way.

Re: When to cycle
If you do the EPP - you start estrogen patches the month before your stimming cycle 10 days after you O (or is it your surge detected). So its like CD23'ish, depending on how your cycle of course. I somehow also doubt you'd be on BCP's.
The timing is crazy at Cornell, isn't it?
I just realized I called the IVF nurse and she hasn't called me back. That would suck if I coudn't get in on this cycle after all this craziness with the schedule. Maybe she is waiting for my last test results, b/c it all depends on that anyway.

Re: When to cycle
I imagine that if the Oncologist says ok to estrogen that's what will happen.
