Question about 3D sono?
Can you request to have these done? How much do you have to pay for them. I'm guessing that insurance doesn't cover them, unless there is a problem. Do most doctors offices do them?

OK, I just did this about 2 weeks ago (in Queens!).
Most doctors offices do NOT offer this service; a few do have the machines in house so you could be lucky, ask your doctor!
The 3d "vendors" are not usually medical offices - in fact you have to bring proof that you are under a regular OBGYN's care before they can do it, and you must sign a waiver (that if there's a defect you cannot sue them). Basically these are for entertainment purposes ONLY.
With that said, it was a blast, I recommend it. We got 4 B&W pics, 40 color 3d pics (on a CD), about 20 minutes of DVD footage, and 6 5x5" prints, all for $150.
They had packages that were less and some that were more..

Awww cheers!!!
Oh and FYI, I think the best pix are taken from 26-32 weeks, at that point the babby has good "fat" and there should be lots of room left for movement.
Also the amnio fluid is key - they said my levels were great, so the pix came out pretty well!!!
Good luck to both of you, you wont regret having these!!!!

That picture is crazy cute!!!! SO adorable. And for the OP........we got our first 3D sono at 23 weeks and we're getting our 2nd one this Sat. at 32 weeks and it's worth EVERY penny!!!!

I live in Suffolk but I went to Impact Technologies in East Meadow and they were great!

Hi Laura! Sorry for the late reply, just saw your ?
I got a few FMs about queens 3ds so here's what I've been sending in reply.
Oh and THANK YOU CmC720 for the rec!!!!
I went here: http://3dimagingservices.com/ They are in South Ozone Park, I live in Astoria, but the only 3d sono in my neighborhood was SHUT DOWN by the attorney general!!!So another lif'er recommended this office, and they were wonderful. *Don't be put off by the 'office' - its a teeny 1 room set up with no waiting room - you just walk in and there's the utrasound machine!! I ts a little weird!! But they were very nice and very professional, DH even tipped the girl who did our pix, she was SO enthusiastic!!!! I work in Midtown and I found an express bus that dropped me almost at their door, so it was easy to get to-DH met me there with his car and it worked out great!
And I drank a grape Snapple right before the test so who knows if that might've made him smile :)
