Why do people do this?
Tie their dogs to meters outside so they can run into store or get coffee etc.
I hate seeing dogs like that its not fair!!!!
esp. the one I saw this morning it was a cute little shizshu

i agree its not fair ...
though it might be the better alternative to bringing them into the store, i guess.
honestly, i really think they should just leave the dog at home if they can't deal with not getting a cup of coffee ...

thats how I feel, just leave the dog at home, take the dog out after or before and just bring it home and then go to the store or wherever you have to go.

I dont think its that big of a deal. what if you went for a walk , stayed out longer than intended, see a deli/store need a drink- I think its better than taking the dogs in.

I've done this a few times when necessary - only left her for a moment - quick run in, not a peruse through a store - and only was at counter of store - where I could see her from inside.

I think there is a big difference between people running into a store for a quick drink and people sitting down in a restaurant for a complete meal. While I have never done it (never lived near a town to walk the dog), I don't think it is terrible.

I see your point, but thing is I saw this dog before I went into the store and 20 minutes later it was still out there
There's a lot of stores, coffee places over there so owner could have been anywhere.

IMO, it's better than subjecting customers to a dog in the store. i find that so rude and annoying. If it's just for a few minutes, i don't see the big deal.

I agree with people shouldnt be bringing them into food places/stores , but my point is couldnt they leave them home then instead of tying them to something outside.

To me, leaving my dogs tied to a meter is the same as leaving my child tied to a meter. I would be devastated if anything happened to my dog (or future child). I would be too afraid someone would injure or steal my dogs. I would never do it and don't like when I see it.
