Spotting ?

Can dehydration cause spotting? I woke up this morning to little bit of red spotting and than when I peed it was more... I called the dr. and he said I can wait until my sonogram on Tuesday if I feel ok, but I can come to the ER if I was the really nervous type and couldn't wait. So I decided to just wait and he told me to drink as much water as I can and I spotted brown one other time and I feel ok now.. I haven't been drinking a lot of water lately and I had more soda than I should have yesterday which I know will dehydrate you Do you think this could be the reason for the red spotting if it is now brown? Thanks!

It's possible that dehydration can irritate your cervix and cause spotting. Did you have sex recently or strain to go to the bathroom? Those things can also cause spotting. When I had a bleeding scare at 11 weeks, I was told to drink at least 1/2 gallon of water to help calm the cervix. By the time I went to the doctor 2 hours later, the spotting turned to brown.

I hope everything is ok. Try to drink a lot of water.

I totally agree with the previous post. Also, I had a little spotting due to a bacterial infection, which had no symptoms for me, they are very common during pregnancy, especially the summer. You should make the dr check when you go in.

Thanks for your replies! I have been drinking water all day and I think that's what's making me feel better.. No more spotting, but still worried. Thanks!
