? about delivering at stony brooke
Ok so I have delivered at St.charles the last 2 times but now my doc delivers at stony brooke. The last time I had left my son with my mom and told her to bring my son to every visiting hour since I had never been away from him and didnt want him to feel left out..She brought him once and that was it.so needless to say I was very upset..I refuse this time to let her watch them since she cant follow directions.. I want to know if anyone had there other kids come to the hospital. And if so when were you able to have them come to the hospital? I see it says fathers are at 10 am and general is at 2pm.. but I really dont have anyone to watch my kids and I would like them to come with him and not be there alone either until 2..I guess if I have to be alone I will since I want us all together.. TIA

I didn't have any children when I delivered DS, but, since you have a private room, they are pretty relaxed about visitng hours. The only issue I can see is that since the rooms are so small, your older kids might go a little nuts hanging out in them all day.

Re: ? about delivering at stony brooke
I was told that siblings were the only visitors allowed at all but they were allowed for the entire time of visiting hours. But my niece and nephew showed up and no one gave them a hard time. In fact, they found a box of surgical gloves and they were inflating ALL of them like balloons in my room. I laughed so hard it hurt!

by the entire visiting hours do you mean from 10-10 when your husband is allowed or 2-7 for general visiting hours.. Trying to see how long they can be there for.

I don't know the exact rule b/c I didn't have other children of my own. I can't see them giving your husband a hard time for bringing them. You could probably call Labor and Delivery or the maternity floor and ask. There are some phone #s on the Stony Brook hospital website.
