Re: What can i do now...

What has helped me is just trying to distract myself as much as possible with work and other things. I also try to avoid any negative threads or just anything online in general about what can go wrong in pregnancy.

I feel the same way. As each week goes on I feel a little better, but I am always terrified something is going to happen. I am even more worried because there are two in there and I am hyper aware of the problems that can arise with multiples. I call the doctor's office about everything, they probably think I am crazy.

eta, i think you mean prepare in general... so i am going to suggest to jsut read lots of baby books and talk to your baby...
do everything you can to ensure your baby's health by taking your vitamins and eating lots of fresh veggies and fruits... other than that enjoy your pregnancy and try not to think about what can go wrong...

i still get nervous and I am 35 weeks. As time goes on you will get less nervous and anxious, trust me.

I just tried to keep myself distracted.

Re: What can i do now...

I use to tell myself (and I still do at 29 weeks) that there is a greater likelihood of everything being perfectly fine as opposed to something going wrong. I kept myself busy at work and with friends and family and I just tried to pass the time. My goal was always to just get through another week so I could read all my books on how the baby was growing and changing that week. Worrying about 1 week at a time seemed to help a little in terms of making the time pass and distracting me. After my Ultrascreen at 12 weeks I started to register and empty out the baby room just to feel like I was doing something to prepare for the baby. Once I was officially in the 2nd trimester I was more relaxed and that's when we started looking for baby furniture and all that good stuff.

I know how you feel though but I really found that each week makes you a little less nervous. I don't think you're ever completely worry free when you're pregnant but as you get further along it's much, much easier to just relax and enjoy the process. Just enjoy every minute that you can now too and think about all the wonderful things that you have to look forward to in the coming weeks......registering, getting the baby room ready, feeling the baby move for the first time, getting a baby belly, your shower, and your little peanut's arrival!! Re: What can i do now...

dont harp too much on negative feelings. Worry here and there is perfectly normal...everyone does it. But keep in mind you have a much greater chance of having a perfectly healthy baby than not. If you stress yourself out too much with worry you will rush the pregnancy and this is a time you will never get back again.
Take your mind off of things by reading, working, etc...but most of all enjoy every day you're carrying this baby!Chat Icon
