So Apparently....
my classes DON'T start tonight. 
i probably should've realized it when there were only three cars (including mine) in the entire parking lot. or maybe when i realized that there was Not a Single Soul on campus. i suppose those couldve been signs, but, nope... i just kept walking. Then, i see a person walking towards me, so that puts my mind at ease that No, i did not slip into an alternate universe.
Wrong again. As he gets closer, i realize its my professor from last semester. He just shakes his head from side to side, and starts laughing. i hear, "janine.... classes start next week".
me: "Are you sure?!"
Him: "you do realize the campus is empty right now, right?"
me: "well, when i find out who my Professor is this semester, can you let him know about this so that it at least counts for something?"
him: "suuuure"
but, then he did go on to tell me what an excellent student i was, so i guess the trip wasn't made completely in vain
