1st time dads...
so this is dh's first child, my second.. he has a somewhat glamorized, television idea of how this is all gonna go down.. lol.every day we talk I somehow burst another one of his bubbles.. So far I have had to explain to him that..
1. a due date.. is an APPROXIMATION.. he actually really thought that that was the daythe baby was coming.. due date.. like the due date on your bills.. (he's a banker) So he had it scheduled in his blackberry.. august 12th... have baby..
2. He thought the delivery room was going to be party central.. no seriously.. he figured on himself being there, my mom, his mom, his cousin's wife, his best friend, my younger brother..
3. I brought him a new video camera for father's day so he has it charged and ready to go because he thinks he' videotaping my delivery.which is a no no.. but his reasons make it even more of a no no.. he'd like to send out video birth announcements..
4. At our last doc appt when i was explaining all of my aches and pains to the tech, he states that he didn't realize i was in that much pain.. i said well i told you.. he goes yeah yeh you did.. but i just wasn't really listening.. (thanks hon..) even the tech stopped and looked at him like dude.. really?

oh and since all of those people can't possibly come into my delivery room, he plans on 'inviting them' to wait in the waiting room.. he seriously has a list of about 12 people he's going to invite to sit in the waiting room at winthrop for however many hours i'm in labor.. in his head he's going to burst out wearing scrubs and a mask an announce it's a girl an start handing out cigars..

my DH is so worried about faiting during delivery, I think he is waiting for me to excuse him to the lobby to hand out cigars!

I was at LIJ with DH for some testing and I thought he was going to pass out when he saw all the women with their big baby belly's walking around.
I think he finally realized this is real.
He also asked if I could have the baby at a smaller hospital because the amount of people there were bugging him out.

 This is so funny...guys are so clueless...my husband is a first timer too and had never touched a diaper, never fed a baby, and usually avoids them...so needless to say...he will be in total shock for a few years with the reality of things

These are hysterical. My DH who is a first time dad has his own little things. I asked him if he wanted to take infant care with cpr. He said, No I know all about babies. Ummm yeah because he has 1 neice who is 10-I know he never changed her diaper, fed her, nothing and two nephews 14 and 5! Also did nothing for them except hold them

My DH is a first time dad too,we went into BBB the other day and he had a ball with all the little toys and teething rings that makes noises, as the rest of the adults were trying to figure out how to fold and unfold the strollers my DH is cracking himself up with teething rings...

last nerve doesn't even begin to explain it...i have taken to keeping the conversation short because with his lack of knowledge, and my short pregnancy temper i'm starting to question how i married such a doofus..

i won't even get into our experience at BBB.. whew.. we went once.. i wont' go back with him.... it's not worth the stress..
cause i'm on some what of a restricted activity, he said he was going to go to BBB this week and take pictures of car seats so I can pick the one I want.. I didn't want to burst his bubble because he's really trying to find ways to help.. but in my head i kept thinking.. uh.. couldn't i just go on the WEBSITE and look at the pictures?
so if any of you ladies are in BBB and see a 6'2 dark skin black man walking around with a camera taking pictures of the car seats.. just oh hell... just go head and laugh.. that's my husband..
