For DH that have seen a urologist for Male infertility issues...what tests did they do and what can we expect at the first consultation?

Re: Male infertility
The first appt was rather simple, had bloodwork done & had the normal "feeling" exam. Then DH was given a script to have a SA done & an ultrasound of the scrotum. Once all that was done, another SA was done 4 weeks after the first. We had also had extensive bloodwork done to test for low testosterone.
When they determined he had low testosterone, he had to go for a bone density scan to make sure his bone structure was not effected...Luckily it was not...Low testosterone eats away at your bones...
DH has low morphology & motility so he was placed on Clomid to increase his counts (no problems) so that will help us with IUI's....

Re: Male infertility
My experience was the same as Kissy's and we too found out he had low testosterone. Although she didn't send him for a bone density scan. She put him on Clomid and 7 weeks later retested his blood and it was in the normal range. He will remain on the Clomid throughout the IVF cycle and then we will see the urologist again after we know our outcome of this cycle. If we are successful she will probably switch him to testosterone injections.

Re: Male infertility
At my Dh's appt she did tons of blood work, and exam and asked a million questions. He was sent for a SA and a sonogram and it tuns out he has bi-lateral vericoceles. He also had some issues with the SA so he was put on clomid. Not sure if it has helped or not to be honest!
Hope this helps! Good Luck!

Geezz......if I were a man I think my manhood would be hurting now for him.
What was the cause of your MF...if you don't mind me asking?

After all that, we found out he has a blockage. The doctor said it "looks like he had a vasectomy". Beyond that blockage is sperm with excellent counts, motility and morphology. He can either have a very invasive surgery to *possibly* correct it, or we can try IVF.
