I read about this last week. We cannot eat tomatoes, smoke cigs, do drugs, eat trans fats...yada yada I am wearing my flip flops!

ETA: i bought a pair of DKNY flip flops about 3 years ago. they have amazing support and are the only ones i own

I hate flip flops They offer no support at all for me, and i just cant wear them, I love my sneakers i wear sneakers all summer long.
I'm a sneaker fiend all year round....LOVE my Puma's!!!
I only wear flip flops to a pool or beach.

you know it is funny you post this - the other day i'm standing next to kenneth's bed and i look down at my feet - VERY close to the disgusting floor of the ICU - then, I glance up at Kenneth's bag-o-urine (lol) and i'm like eeeeekkkkk -- since then, to the hospital, i've been wearing sneaks as much as possible.
grossed me out. 
You are right on that. I work in a hospital and would NEVER ear open-toed shoes there.....That includes Flip FLips!!! GROSS!!!!
