Hi!

It's your moms best friend Maureen! I know you don't know who I am, or maybe you do...you may have heard your mom mention me from time to time. I live way down in Arlington, VA and miss her lots. I have a son who is almost 2 years older than you, but I still hope you guys will be friends some day and not drive us too crazy (but you probably will, as that is the job of a son). We will just drink off our anxieties together after you hide frogs in our beds, or climb and fall from that tree we told you was too high!

The reason I am writing is to tell you that your mom has had it. She is tired, swollen, and well, just really really ready to meet you. You've been growing for quite a while now...and we are all ready to meet you (especially your anxious parents!!!).

Please come soon....give your mom the present of a nice, easy labor...and make sure you sleep at least 8 hours straight from day one, change your own diapers and coo instead of cry. OK OK that is asking a bit too much from a newborn, I know. We will all love you no matter what...even if you are crazy like your friend Johnny.

And on a serious and sappy hormonal note from your aunt to be....

Know how much you are loved, how much your presence will melt your parents hearts, and how the world will become a better place because you will be in it. Your mom has no idea what she is in for, and even when you give her some trouble (which hopefully is minimal) she will smile and hold you and know that THIS is what a true blue miracle is.
