Faced with a dilemma..need some advice

So i live in PA but work in NYC. My doctors office is in NYC and I will be having the baby out here in NY at NYU Hospital in the city. I am going on maternity leave 3 weeks before my due date and wont be in NYC.

I can either stay with my MIL in Long Island for the last 2 weeks of my pregnancy which is what I did with DS, however my water wound up breaking in PA anyway ( i was on a small vaca with the hubby) and i didnt have contractions until the next day so all worked out ok. Or should I switch doctors to a doctor in NJ that is closer to me so that I wont have to stay in Long Island?

ETA: DH also works in NYC as well. so if i go into labor during the week he will have to rush to the hospital that I want to give birth at which is like 1 hour 15 minutes away and given that there is no traffic

Do you have a doctor that ageed to take you?? A lot of doctors wont take you at this stage of the game unless there are extenuating circumstances..

I would want to deliver close to home. I wouldn't want to be away from my husband during the potential labor period.

I agree, I wouldn't want to be far from home either.

I live in PA too. My husband works in NJ and so do I. To me there's nothing like the comfort of my own house! If I were you I would most definetly switch doctors so that it is more convinient for you! That NYC commute is a killer my poor husband did it for almost 3 years!

If it worked the first time I would stick with the doctor in the city.

What would you do with DC if you were at your MIL's? Would they be with you?
