Prenatals

I am working my way off my BC pills. Probably will be off come this september. Can I start taking Prenatal pills now even though i am still on the pill?

I actually would like to know myself b/c I plan on coming off my BC by November and I was wondering about Prenatals too

Yes prenatals and BCP have nothing to do with one another. Actually my OB wanted me to take my prenatals a minimum of a month before starting to TTC (and to take a one a day woman a year before starting)- others I know were told to start taking them a few months before TTCing. You want to start asap - b.c it can never hurt you to have the extra vitamins and the extra folic acid. The 1st trimester is the most important time to take them as that is when they need the folic acid most. Some don't start taking them until they see their OB which can be 6-8 weeks into your pregnancy and IMO that is too late to start.

My doctor told me that I don't have to start the pre natals until I go off the pill. But, I'm already taking a multivitamin with the recommended folic acid. If you're not taking a multivitamin, I would start taking the pre natals now!
