New to LIF

Hi everyone, just wanted to introduce myself - I'm Gabriela, I got married 2 months ago

I heard about this site from LIWeddings and now I am on the other side TTC

Just wondering what some of these things mean like CD31/15DPO ?????

Cycle Day 31...Day 31 of your menstral cycle

and DPO means Days past ovulation

The ones you'll probably see most are:

BFN - Big Fat Negative
BFP - Big Fat Positive
OPK - Ovulation Predictor Kit
CBEFM - Clearblue Easy Fertility Monitor
POAS - Pee on a Stick
AF - Aunt Flo
2ww - Two week wait (time between ovulation and AF)
CD - Cycle Day
DPO - Days Past Ovulation
FRER - First Response Early Result
RE - Reproductive Endocrinology (Infertility specialist)

I think those are probably the most common ones that I can think of!

i know the realities, that its not as easy to conceive as those that are not trying think it is.
does that ever bother anyone, when you're trying and you know its not one two three and there are other people that say well.... We are going to try to conceive in x number of months/years so i can be pregnant during the summer or during the winter.

just out of curiosity, (im new to this whole thing) they say that on average it takes up to one year right?

I just heard too many stories and know a couple of women that have been trying for years and years, invitro, the doctors say everything is fine, it just breaks my heart

I know exactly what you mean. Before we started trying, I wanted to plan exactly when I'd get pregnant. I thought it would take us 3 months MAX, and we could have an early summer baby so that I could take some time off from work and return in September. Now, 10 months later we are still trying! We had something every month - first few months we wanted a summer baby, then a Halloween baby, then a Thanksgiving baby, a Christmas baby, a New Year's baby, A Valentine's Day baby, a St. Patty's day baby, etc, etc. At this point we just want a healthy baby!

You never know what your TTC journey will be like.

Some ladies come on here and in 1 month they are pregnant. Others try for months and years.
