12 weeks? end of first trimester? When do people usually go "public"?

It's different for everyone. You do what makes you comfortable.
My first pregnancy I waited until 8 weeks to tell my mom and sister. 11 for the rest of the family and I m/c @ 12  This time I told most of the family right after I POAS  You do what you want and when the time is right for you. Congratulations!

We told our parents as soon as I POAS.  We also told our siblings and close friends as soon as we found out. We told our extended family at about 9 weeks and I told everyone at work around 12 weeks.

1st pregnancy, 12 weeks
this pregnancy, we needed a babysitter for our first sono at 8 weeks, so we told my parents...that day we found out it was twins, so we had to tell my parents and we knew that they werent' going to be able to keep news like that a secret so we ended up telling everyone then.

my first pregnancy i told the world as soon as i POAS. then MC at 7 weeks. this pregancy i POAS surprized DH day later cuz i was trying to hold old till fathers day and that didnt happen and we just told my mom and his mom last night so fathers day we want to surprize his dad and grandfather. As far as work goes im not gonna advertise it but i will be avoiding a lot of activity and i think they will catch on. In my opinion It was great having everyone know because god for bid something did happen again you will have the support system there. The first trimester seems to be the most stressful.

We told (1st relation) family once the pregnancy was confirmed by Dr. at 7 weeks. Then everyone else after the 12th week.

I am almost 12 weeks and we have only told a few people, we will be telling everyone in the next week or two.

We told DH's brother and his wife the day I POAS. We told me family (brother, sisters, mom and dad) a week later. than his Mom a few days after that.
We waited to tell everyone else until the heartbeat was confirmed at just over 7 weeks. I told work at the same time.

We told our parents after our first sonogram at 9 weeks. I told work after the end of the first trimester, so around 13-14 weeks.

Family and some close friends at 8-10 weeks.
Work - when it becomes too obvious! probably 16 weeks.

We told my MIL yesterday because when we go out we usually get wine and she would have known immediately anyway since I didn't have any.
I told my mom this morning over the phone and she was in hysterics and so happy. She's had a rough few months and it made me so happy to bring her a little joy.
I just got my BFP's.
