What would you do...dilemma
Its about my doctor. Try to follow... I went in for the sono (afp) where they measure the neck and take blood. Then I was to return to the office in 2 weeks to follow up and take more blood. As I understood theres a small window to go and take the 2nd exam. So I get to the office two weeks later, and it turns out he cant do the test because he scheduled it 2 days earlier then it should have been.
Mess up #1.
Then he schedules me for 2 WEEKS LATER...saying that time break dosent matter. I heard elsewise.
Then I ask him if my spina bifita results came in from my blood work. He says there was no problem, but in shuffling through his papers he realized he never even ordered those bloods.
Mess up #2.
So now he will do that during the next visit we scheduled as a follow up to my AFP.
Im so lost when it comes to these things, and I would think i should rely on him to do this work, and not have me question why he is.
I have had no other chromosomal tests done, and I am going to be 16 weeks. Were there others I should have been doing? Am I missing the boat here?
Would you switch doctors?

I would switch doctors.
I actually did switch doctors in my first trimester because my first made a series of similar screw ups.

But now the hunt begins and I feel like I have to start over

Definitely change!! My doc is in North Babylon... sorry I can't help you there.
By the time I had my 17 week appt I had
Nuchal Translucency [aka Ultrascreen]- sono and blood test
Quad Screen- blood test only: includes AFP and testing for other disorders

I would change doctors. That is just unacceptable.
I honestly wonder how some doctors stay "in business". It's really unbelievable.

i see drs marrin and amorin at st. catherines. there are also 2 males that are there too but i stick to the females. i really like dr amorin. if u want their number fm me. :)
