I HATE DVR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I just taped the whole thing so I can watch it without commercials. What does it do? STOP AS THEY WERE ANNOUNCING THE WINNER!!!!!!!!!!!!
SOOOOOOOOOOOO PISSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSED!!!!
Now I'll have to see if it's on AGAIN so I can actually see the ending.

if you did not exstend the time you will not have it. i did not and if i was not watching i would not have known(actually when i first got it back up i thought da won) and last night on the news they did say to exstend it because lst year it went till 10:10....

Anytype of live event, espically AI Fiinale, plan for extra 5 mins (manual record) Fox should of automatically make it run over a few minutes

Mine did the same thing. Literally as Ryan Seacrest said: "And the winner.... of American Idol.... IS D--"
And then it went to the menu screen. I screamed out loud, "WHAT THE F**K?!"  Had to go to televisionwithoutpity.com to see who won.

That's why I always watch the finale live. They almost ALWAYS run over.
Next time - just extend the time on the recording for another half hour.

You have no idea how many times and with how many shows this has happened to me. I looked at the clock at one point during the finale last night and thought "well, this is just horrible for those who DVR'd it." Seriously, I agree with the PP, Fox should have it run over a bit. It ALWAYS does. Even the regular shows do, too.
