Upset!! and ANGRY

Hi, I dont know what to do anymore.. I have started over 3 years ago with IUI, with North Shore.. My husband was uneasy with them, but we went thru it and after spending a fortune on donor sperm and 3 cycles nothing worked.. we waited a year and my new job offered insurance that would cover IVF. So we foun Long Island IVF. My DH felt like it a good place and was comphortable with them. I went thu all the tests, and blood work.. started BCP for 2 months. was due to have er end of March. Never happend the new place was not ready, then we waited April, nothing, now its may. now i am told that the Doc for my husband sperm retrival cant do it in the new place... So now all that work and money we spent might just be flushed down the toilet.. I am so devistated that i keep getting close to that finish line and just keep getting slapped back.. Dr has kept me informed but i am so heart broken, i dont know if i should cry or hire an attoney.. My Dh is ready to give up.. I dont want to go to another place again, and redo everything.. any advice i sure could use it right now... I have 2 friends that are currently pregent and they keep asking me.. and there was a rumer at work that i was, it hurts so damm much..

So THEY cancelled the cycle because of issues with their office, which had nothing to do with you? And they are saying now you are going to have to pay for a whole new cycle? That is wrong, and yes I would contact an attorney and find a new doctor.

Oh I cannot believe that. That is SO wrong. They cannot do that. I would fight it like mad. You can go to another RE. I know you don't feel like it now, but you are stronger than that and you know it. the end goal is all the push you need. They are not every RE on LI or NY. We can all recommend someone. BUt, first I would go down to that office and if you did lay out money for work they did not perform because they canceled you, then I would threaten them with an attorney. (and if you have a friend who is an attorney by any chance, it couldn't hurt to have a "letter" handy). You can do this. We are all here for you to help. Let us know what we can do.

I agree I would talk to the Office Manager about trying to get your money back. They should of never started you off knowing that the facilities might not be ready. Good Luck!

sorry this happened to you, but from what I know retrievals were only pushed back about a week or so because of the new facility in Melville. And that was because they had to check the air quality of the labs. there are a few girls on this board that had ERs in April from LI-IVF

I think your bigger issue from your post is why your DH's doc can't perform - do you need an LI-IVF doc to do it?

I put in 2 calls today for the lady who is "in charge" of contrats etc.. (has not called me back) and i called LIFE again.. they tell me to keep checking back.. i told them that i am concating my attorney. Dr. Brenner feels horribe that this all happned.. but i feel that they NEVER should have told us that it was all a go! and for me to sit and wait al day for med that never arrived and to scheual my summer around this just makes me so mad! I really like Doc Brenner and the staff at IVF but to run an IVF office with out a doctor advaible to do a TESA is beyond me.. The money that was spend was copays and money that the insurnace set aside that once its gone its gone.. I really DOnt want to go thu another HSG, another water sonogram, and all that bloodwork and missed time from work.. to start a new place i would have to redo everything.. :( I put a call into an attonery to see what i should do now. so far no calles back from anyone.

well hear is the latest.. I finally got a call back.. telling them that if i dont have a date to start by next week i am fining a new doctor and i want my copays back etc. so they told me that there is a meeting on Monday am about it and that they are going to have an answer for me by Monday night.. i hope so i am now looking into another place that my insurance will cover.. i hope that they have good hours.. it would be nice to stay on LI for this.. my husband i both work such weird hours and it hard to find any time..
I will keep you all informed.. They are taking the fault and i am happy for that but i wish that they were just say they are sorry.. and make up for it somehow

Don't give up. There HAS to be a better office out there that can help you. I live in NJ so I can't reco. NY doctors but the girls on here def. will be able to.

Short story - In 2005, I first went to see an RE. Went to the office, it was shabby, the staff was rude and the doctor examining me treated me like a specimin. Never got any follow up from them or anything. Few months later, get a letter in the mail their practice closed down. Fast forward to 2007, I am ready to see the RE again, try an office close to my office and the difference is a 360 degree turnaround! Beautiful, clean, friendly, attentive and proactive. Sometimes I think it's a matter of finding what works for you. This board is a great place to start
