I'm so angry/upset right now!!

DH and I decided that we were going to try to keep the name we picked a secret. I told my parents the name because we are naming the baby after my great aunt who has been like a grandmother to me. I asked my parents to keep it a secret and my sister said to me the other day, oh mom told me you were thinking about naming the baby M*******. So I denied it cause I just didn't want to hear my sister's comments. So I asked my mom tonight and she said, no I didn't tell Erin (my sister). The only person I told was Aunt M*******. This is the aunt who the baby will be named after!!!! I said Mom, this was definitely the one person I didn't want to know! I thought it would be nice for her to find out after the baby was born. I know it's not a big deal but my mom told everybody I was pregnant when I first found out and now this. I just feel like it's such a lack of respect for my feelings, whether she thinks it's a big deal or not.

I know how upsetting that can be. You look forward to things and people get soo excitted and dont think and go an ruin your surprise.. sorry.

I would be upset too but there is nothing you can do about it now so dont stress yourself out.
Your decision to name the baby after this special Aunt doesnt change and I am sure your Aunt is 110% flattered by it whether she knows it now or when you deliver.
Sometimes moms can drive us preggos nuts for sure.

I know what you mean!!

I am sorry she ruined those few surprises for you..........this is the exact reason that I have not yet told my family! I am 6 weeks today & I know the second my Mom knows, the rest of the family will too.


But to play devils advocate a little.......as your Mom is and I know mine will be........she is just so excited & can't contain her big mouth! This is how I know I have ot look at when I am ready to tell!

So sorry your mom blabbed. It is still a beautiful gesture and I am sure your aunt appreciates it even if the surprise is ruined.
This is why we are not telling anyone the name. We had the same problem when we told my mil we were pregnant. I have health issues so we asked her not to tell anyone till after the ultrascreen and she not only blabbed but then said we never told he not to say anything. Dh was so mad he says next baby she gets to know I am pregnant when I deliver

I'm sorry that she ruined it for you, but now that the name is out, don't stress yourself about it.

We have decided to keep the name a secret also and my family is super annoyed at us that every time we talk to them they try to guess the name or get us to slip up.

I'm sure your aunt is flattered either way.

Its an honor regardless of how or when your aunt found out, I'm sorry that you didn't get to surprise her with the announcement, though.
