DH SA results
Well DH spoke with nurse regarding his results and of course he didnt ask for numbers. They told him count great, motility great, and morphology is 7% and they like 14%. What does this mean. Does this decrease our chances? Nurse told him if we are doing IUI then this is not a problem. does this mean due to his morpology im at increased risk for MC or developmental complications? im so confused.

Re: DH SA results
I think every RE has a different standard for morphology. My RE said they like to see 10%, my DH varies between 0-1%
morphologly does not increase your chances of developmental issues. Morph is the way the sperm are shaped which makes it difficult to penetrate the egg. I think with 7% morphology, your chances of getting pregnant are still pretty good.

Re: DH SA results
MY dh's was 5% and they still let us do 13 iuis....
Its not the worse, but he should see a urologist specializing in infertility to make sure if the other numbers are normal( liek in my dh's case) something is not causing the low morph ..

Re: DH SA results
Don't be worried about the results. My DH didn't get the greatest morphology and motility results either- but our dr told us it wasn't an issue b/c when they wash the sperm for an IUI you're left with the best of the boys and remember all you need is 1!

Re: DH SA results
And to add, morphing can change. DH was really stressed last year when he had his first SA. I believe he had 3% morph and over winter (when he's not stressed, slow work) his 2nd SA it was much higher, above normal (can't believe it but I think I threw out the paper I wrote it down on, I have everything but the post it-darn it).

Re: DH SA results
DH has ranged from a 1-2% morphology & we were seeing a Fertility Urologist but now have been referred to a RE. We were told that DH's other numbers are good, even though his motility is a little on the lower side. We were told that IVF might be the way to go but we are waiting to consult with the RE since we do want to try IUI's first since we have to pay Out of Pocket.
The morphology is just the same of the sperm. I found a lot of information on the web about it. FM if you want.

Re: DH SA results
My DH had 9% normal and i freaked, we went to a urologist. My problems became much more complex bc I ended up discovering Stage 3 endo, PCOS etc..i then started IUI clomid after surgery(lost a tube) and with the low morph..i got pregnant two months after starting IUI, zero problems with development so far and I would def recommend trying the IUI route for low morphology. It worked for me. Dont worry too much about it. I did and finally stopped when i realized so many ppl get preggo with low morph
