Spinoff To The Travel Thread
In reading the travel thread....it occurred to me that i have no idea what the 'safe times' are to travel....when expecting.
Is it okay to fly early on? If so - how early on?
I know NOTHING about that topic...do you?

Re: Spinoff To The Travel Thread
My obgyn told me that it is safest to travel during your second trimester. She said this is because it is least likely that you will miscarry.
She told me that it is ok to travel towards the end of yor first trimester as well. I don't think air travel will endanger your baby. However, if you do miscarry, you probably want to be close to home. that is why they recommend that you not travel during your first trimester.
You are not supposed to travel during your last trimester because you don't want to have to deliver on a plane in case you go into labor early. I think some airlines don't let you board if you are 36+ weeks pregnant.

Re: Spinoff To The Travel Thread
wow and YIKES!!!!
We have a wedding in June in Novia Scotia and we're flying... But - unless i get the whole BFP this month - i guess that's not something i'll have to worry about...
I can't test this month for another 5 days...but if i had to guess - i'd go with a BFN..

Re: Spinoff To The Travel Thread
the safest time to travel is in your 2nd trimester...
you can travel in your 3rd but its up to your doctor and the airlines.
