i work in customer service. i call EVERYONE ma'am and sir... even if i can see their d.o.b. and know that i'm old enough to be their mother.
because of that, i don't mind ma'am.

Being that I am still in my thirties- I prefer Miss over Mam.. can't stand that one..

I actually witnessed a woman screaming at a man in a store because he called her ma'am. It was the most ridiculous thing I have ever seen.
Personally, I don't get why so many women lose their minds when someone calls them ma'am.. it's supposed to be a sign of respect and courtesy!
