Is your DH a "good" gift giver?
and when i say GOOD, i don't mean does he buy you $$$$$$$$ gifts, i mean when you get gifts from him do you think "wow, i love it" and "this is exactly what i wanted" and "how did he know?"
My DH is terrible, he gets me stuff that i would never look twice at, he'll buy me the same thing twice in a row. i've had to return so much stuff over the past few years its ridiculous.
I don't know how to stop him.

Re: Is your DH a "good" gift giver?
my DH is pretty good but only because he refuses to buy me a gift util i tell him exactly what i want
however, our first christmas together, he kind of knew i wanted a necklace, but i thought he would get me something much mroe simple than he did. he went above and beyond what i thought he would get me - it was amazing!

Re: Is your DH a "good" gift giver?
When is comes to getting jewelry my DH is very good. I never disliked anything he has chosen for me.
Any other type of gifts DH will only buy if I show him what I want.

Re: Is your DH a "good" gift giver?
Yes, he is.... He usually buys me nice things, thoughtful things, etc... and now I always get super nice things from the kids too. Cards and some fresh flowers are still my favorite when he brings them home for no reason!
The only thing he is forbidden to buy me is clothes The last time he bought me a "dress" it reminded me of something the polygamist women wear in the compound. I never returned something so fast. I have no clue what he was thinking

Re: Is your DH a "good" gift giver?
nope, I love him but he sucks at that...I do not think he EVER actually got me a gift without me telling him what I want
I told him EXACTLY what I want for mother's day, lets see what happens

David is a great gift giver! I am very lucky in that respect.
He's given me great jewelry and picks out really nice clothes for me. The man has purchased probably 75% of my wardrobe for me.

Re: Is your DH a "good" gift giver?
Obviously I love my DH, but I wish he was better at gift giving.
My birthday was yesterday and we had a really nice dinner, but that was it.
I know $$$ is tight, but it could have been something small, or thoughtful.
I am really sad today about this. But it's not the first time, so I should just get used to it.

Re: Is your DH a "good" gift giver?
No, not at all. And I mean NOT AT ALL. He never gives me gifts. No birthday, Christmas, anniversary...nothing. I created my own monster though. The first year we were married money was tight so I suggested a ban on gifts. He took it as a lifetime ban. Frankly, knowing his tastes, I'm not all that sad about it.

Ehhhh... He has gotten ALOT better. Our 1st Christmas together, he bought me $400 worth of Victoria Secret. Who was that gift for really?

This is one of the reasons we dont "do gifts". We go out for a nice meal, or a trip, etc. to celebrate bdays/anniversaries/etc. I know I wouldn't trust myself to spend our $$ on something for DH that he'll absolutely LOVE and don't want him to stress about doing the same.

Not complaining though he is pretty good at picking out gifts for me.

Re: Is your DH a "good" gift giver?
He's not that great.
He'll usually say "Let's go shopping to get your birthday/Christmas/anniversary present"
We've been together a long time. You'd think he would know by now....

Re: Is your DH a "good" gift giver?
Kevin is a good gift giver but he never knows what to get me. He always asks but I won't tell him, I feel he should know me well enough to think of something that I would like. So far he's always gotten me thoughtful gifts, or something that I've mentioned in the past. I know it would be easier if I just said "I want this" but then I could just buy it myself, it means more as a gift when he thinks of something on his own.
