Jury Duty Question

Does anyone know if they send something to your employer to state the days you had to be there?

I know they give you a reciept for your records to prove you served, but I can't see how they would even know who my employer is.. anyone know??

Re: Jury Duty Question

The last time I was called, you had to filll out paperwork where it asked for employer, etc.

ETA: I don't think I've ever received a "receipt" at jury duty saying I served.

Re: Jury Duty Question

No, they don't notify your employer. You have to do that with the receipt. If you work 5 PT jobs, how would they be able to figure out who to send a notice to, or if they would all need the notice, since 1 of the 5 jobs is summer only, so you technically didn't start yet, etc, etc. By just giving you the receipt, they are done, and it's up to you to notify whomever needs to know. I haven't served in quite a while. It may be different now.... I got a stamped piece of paper stating that I served, and my employer wasn't notified, as far as I know.

Re: Jury Duty Question

I just served on 4/21 & they gave us a stamped receipt that we served. They told us that was to be given to our employer if they needed it. It had the dates & how many days (in my case 1 day)

Re: Jury Duty Question

You can show your boss the notice you got in mail. that should be proof enough until you get the paper after saying you were there.

Maybe I am just forgetting the receipt ... or didn't pay attention because I didn't need one for my job.
