Does anyone else experience this re: "morning" sickness?

I feel nauseous most of the day, but it's particularly bad in the early morning and late afternoon/evening. Throughout the day, I get hungry and eat a meal or snack. It makes me feel better for 5, 10, 20 minutes. Then, I feel worse than before I ate. I also tend to have heartburn/acid reflux, especially at night. Everything seems worse when I lay down.

Does anyone else feel sick/worse after eating? It makes me not want to eat, but then I get stomach pains if I don't eat every few hours.

So far, I've only gotten physically sick in the mornings, but I constantly feel like I'm about to get sick. Does Zofran help? I plan to talk to my doctor about my nausea at my appointment. TIA.

I just posted that I feel worse when I lay down its the weirdest thing. I get nauseaus when I don't eat and then I'm fine when I do and then like an hour later I'm nauseaus again...but nothing seems appealing to me, everything makes me gag....the worst Ice Cream, just the thought of it makes me want to run right to the bathroomChat Icon

I have trouble watching commercials on tv now b/c most of the food ads are really unappealing right now. I'm starting to have serious food aversions.

I have trouble sleeping b/c I keep feeling so awful when I'm lying down. My heartburn is particularly bad when I lie down.

Re: Does anyone else experience this re: "morning" sickness?

what about spacing extremely small snacks out throughout the day (like 2 crackers)?

I know low blood sugar makes everything worse.... so keeping a tiny little something in you might lessen the nausea.....

with my aversions, I went to the grocery store every other day to pick up the only one or 2 foods I could imagine eating... (they changed constantly). Generally, it was crackers, buttered pasta, water, and some types of fruit (oranges, pineapple, melon) and as I improved a bit, I added some dairy.

It took quite a while to get back to anything seasoned, any meat, any veggies....

Re: Does anyone else experience this re: "morning" sickness?

I can't say I had m/s because I really didn't. Some queasiness but it was mostly at night and I never threw up but, I have had terrible heartburn/reflux the whole time. It is worse at night and when I lay down.

I avoided tomato sauce and onions. These were the 2 things that killed me. Also, try not to lay down after you eat at night. I would eat dinner, wait a while, then eat some crackers or a glass of milk before laying down.

Projesterone relaxes muscles (purpose being the uterus as not to contract) but it also affects the valve in the espohogus which causes the reflux. My doctor said I could take Tums, Pepto, or Zantac and many people sware by Prilosac. Feel better soon! Chat Icon

i totally feel the same way!! carbs usually help me feel better....bagel with cream cheese or a grilled cheese sandwich always does the trick for me....but the heartburn is always inevitable and forget laying down!! i haven't totally laid down in about 7 months!

Unfortunately the name "morning" sickness is VERY misleading!!! Chat Icon I experienced nausea all day - ended up losing weight during my first trimester because it was hard to eat.

I did get Zofran from my doctor - it helped sometimes.

Try to eat small meals and whatever seems slightly appetizing - even if it means eating cereal for dinner. Chat Icon

I feel exactly the same way. I'm literally forcing myself to eat--only because I know I have to. And I usually have an enormous appetite.

I started on Zofran today and it was the first time in over a week that I didn't toss my cookies!!!!! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon
