someone showed up at your shower in jeans knowing it was in a nice restaurant?

Also, a friend of mine just showed up at my shower with her son without asking if she can bring him knowing NO kids were allowed.

I just thought it was disrespectful but call me old fashion.

I know I am sensitive these days but I was really bothered by all this Chat Icon

I wouldn't care about wearing jeans. Lord knows there are jeans that cost more than most people's entire outfits!

As for the other one bringing her son. It depends, why did she bring him? while I agree that I might be ticked that she showed up with her son, I'd be inclined to let it slide if it were a last minute thing and she much rather bring her son than not show up to my shower at all. Chat Icon

I wouldn't care about the jeans.

How old is the son, and why did she bring him? If he is like, a baby, and she didn't want to leave him, I wouldn't be mad. But if he is older and she just brought him for no reason, I would be a little mad.

The jeans wouldnt bother me I'm sure she felt self conscious if she stood out compared to everyone else. Maybe she had a last minute babysitting issue and it was more important for her not to miss your shower and she thought you would understand Chat Icon

i wouldn't care about the jeans at all. i probably wouldn't even notice.

regarding the baby...it depends on so much. was she purposely trying to be a PITA? or do you think she honestly didn't think about it? she probably didn't even give it a thought.

i wouldn't talk with her about it at all and would let it slide if it was a close friend.

No, neither would bother me. My shower was held at a nice restaurant and *I* wore jeans...it was the only article of clothing that I was comfortable in.

No. I wear jeans all of the time and have rarely felt underdressed. I don't find it offensive. As for bringing her child, did she have no alternative? I wouldn't have let that got to me either. I tend to focus on the positive.

The baby... If it was stated on the invite that children werent allowed and other people didnt bring their children I would be upset. If it wasnt stated it shouldnt be a big deal.
She might not of had someone to watch her child.
You shouldnt really let it bother you... It was your shower .... Happy times Happy thoughts... Happy memories...
