Spotting

So, I just got my BFP on wednesday and now this morning I am spotting. I have to go in and "hunt" for it, but it's there. Of course, I am freaking out. I spoke to my mom and she said that she spotted with all 3 of her pregnancies. I have a doctor's appoitment on friday (my first) - should I call my doctor to see if I can get an earlier appointment? But if there is something terrible happening, they can't do anything to prevent it anyway - I am driving myself crazy here.

Re: Spotting

lots of women spot in their first trimester - as long as the blood isn't red and you aren't cramping really really hard (like doubled over in pain) you are probably fine. Chat Icon

you can always call your dr. but this early they won't be able to do much more than give you a blood test - there isn't anything to see on a sono before 6 weeks really.

ETA: the only thing they can really "do for you" is check to see if your progesterone is low, and give you progesterone suppositories if needed, but that wouldn't stop a miscarriage in progress.

Re: Spotting

Sooooo many women spot. Especially early on. I wouldn't worry about it unless it becomes more and more. But if it would give you peace of mind maybe you can make your appt sooner. Try not to worry Chat Icon

Re: Spotting

I spotted for 8 days during week 6 of my pregnancy and I was convinced that I was having another m/c [had one in Nov.] I am happy to say that all was just fine and I just entered my 2nd trimester today [I'm 14 weeks]!! It is scary, but unless the blood is bright red and has clumps in it... you are mostly likely just fine!! Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: Spotting

Call your Dr. and get an immediate appt. I suggest not to wait until Friday.

Best of luck!

Re: Spotting

I didn't spot with my first and this time I spotted for a straight week. I know how you feel. It's very stressful!!
I would take it easy and call your doctor.

I'm sure you'll be fine!Chat Icon

It's redish, but a lot of mucus, not like AF....and no real cramping, more of just a "nervous" stomach
