kittens?
Does anyone know of any kittens for adoption? After 3 years we are ready to get another cat (my poor baby died of breast cancer and it devestated me)
We went to Little Shelter and they said since we have a dog, we need to get a small kitten, so the dog will want to nuture it, instead of tear it apart - and LS doesn't have younf kittens.
I have seen Last Hope at PetSmart, they are vaccined and "fixed" for $100 - I guess that is a good deal (since I just had my dog's vaccines updated for $140)??? My problem at LH is that they all have siblings and I don't want to take them away from their siblings!

Re: kittens?
Im sure this sounds like a broken record but did you check out Craigslist. There are quite a lot of listings for kittens now...it seems to be the season!

Re: kittens?
I got my Murphy last year from lovely people who maintain a TNR ferel colony - One young female they couldn't catch to fix last year is pregnant already. I'm sure they would be thrilled to know that one of the babies was going to a great home.
Just FM me if you are interested.
Kitten season is starting, so I'm sure it won't be difficult to find a baby at this time of year.

Re: kittens?
I just want to add- don't feel bad about taking 1 away from there siblings
my Kitten was one of 5 or 6- (her brother Jack was adopted by a fellow poster)
and she was perfectly happy to go to her new home and meet her new BF my older cat
$100 for vacinnes and nueturing is a bargin
Maggie's shots cost me well over $200 and her spaying was $250 at my vet
Here is when they first meet.... they still love each other now- we thought he would eat her

Re: kittens?
I have kittens for adoption!!!! They are actually more like young cats now - 9 months old. My husband and I have been trying forever to get them homes. We have a mother cat and 3 of her babies. We would really like to adopt in pairs though also. We have spayed/neutered and vacciinated them already. We are just trying to find them a good home.
We rescued the momma cat before she gave birth so the kittnes were born in our home.

Re: kittens?
I'm so sorry about your loss of your kitty. That is devastating.
And I do agree getting a kitten would probably work better with your dog.
Don't feel bad about taking them from their siblings if they are old enough. Eventually they will be split up and do just fine. I felt bad for taking my dog away from his momma and siblings, even though he was old enough...but it does happen and the pet adjusts to their new life.

I have two of these kittens' siblings and they are the most awesome kitties EVER! So sweet and loving, and full of personality.
