I did always go to a place to get them done....then started skeeving them.
I always had my own kit, but one day I was grossed out by the person who I followed. The tub water was just refilled....but I would have wanted it bleached and scrubbed after this person went.
I gave it a whirl again when I moved to NC, but they charge double anyway down here.

yes I go to a reg nail place. but they use a fresh set of implements for each customer - that are hermetically sealed in a pouch.

I go to my regular nail place. I bought a let of files. They metal tools they use are all cleaned in antiseptic after each use. They tubs are all scrubbed with bleach after each pedi. I have been going there for years and love their cleanliness.
This post reminds me that I need a mani/pedi and waxing!

Me too. I go to Tiffany Nails on Old Country road in the same shopping center as John's Farm. Love them!
