Can anyone answer question about a service at a mosque?

A friend of mines father died, and they are having a service tonight at a Mosque in Brooklyn. I was told it was 5-9. Can anyone tell em what to expect? Do people come and go throughout that time, or is it a 4 hour service? Do I wear a head covering? Does it have to be a particular color? If I dotn have one will they give you one?

They will provide you with head covering if you do not have one.

I am 90% sure the women and the men are seperated. It's similar to daily prayers, approximately 1.5 hrs.

I just asked a friend, and she said it is four hours.

I'm pretty sure they'll provide you with a head covering if you need one but it depends on the Mosque. Men and women are in separate areas and the service is for four hours. However, I do not believe you are obligated to remain the entire four hours as I've gone to a few with DH and there have been times he didn't stay the entire time.

You'll also have to remove your shoes so you may want to wear socks.
