I am starting clomid today under the care of my obgyn...I just made an appointment with Dr. Brenner incase that doesn't work out......just don't know what to expect with any of this.....just a little nervous........I decided on Dr. Brenner since from what I have read on here, he has a little bit better of a bed side manner.........yikes I can't believe this is happening........

I just wanted to say, make sure your OB is monitoring you...OBs have a tendency of giving you Clomid and having you wing it.
Lots of luck to you, Dr. Brenner is my doctor and he's no-nonsense, but very understanding and kind.

what do you mean by monitor...I asked him if I needed to come back for any other testing he said no...if it works great...if not then come back and we will do it all over again.

If you are on Clomid, you should be having sonograms to check the growth of your follicles as well as bloodwork to check your hormone levels for signs of ovulation.

Dr. Brenner is my doc. To be honest I don't see him that much because his staff of nurses and PA's does most of the day to day monitoring during a treatment cycle. He returns my calls quickly whenever I want to speak to him and is reassuring whenever I get stressed out. I feel confident with him and his staff. They are all very professional and nice.

I unfortuantely waste 7 precious Clomid cycles with my "over confident" OBGYN- only to need to see an RE anyway who got me pg. in 3 cycles....The OB failed to moniter me and basically said - take Clomid-have "relations" on day blah blah blah and come back if you don't get AF for a pg. test....What he didnt tell me is that Clomid has a drying effect on CM and it can make it very hard for the swimmers to get where they need to go...I ended up having an IUI and it worked....You defiantely should have some of the basic testing and sonograms at least done before starting any fertility meds.
