Rogam shot
I had the rogam shot when I was in the er the other night because of having a negative blood type. I did some research on here and it seems like most women were given the shot around 28 weeks...does anoyne know why I got it so early? Are they doing it this early now? I'm a little nervous now....

you should ask your doctor what his reasoning was. i got mine at exactly 28 weeks. maybe it's because you're having twins and that changes things. it can't do anything harmful, so don't worry!

I was in the ER at 14 weeks pg because I had bleeding..they gave me the shot then, as well as at 28 weeks and then again after I had him! I never thought to ask the reason, i was too distraught over everything happening but maybe it was b/c I was having the bleeding and they take precautions against blood types mingling?? I have to research this now, I can't believe I never thought to ask!

With any kind of bleeding they do it early because they don't want the baby's blood to mix with yours. They might do it again, I am not sure. I had it at 28 weeks and may need it again at delivery.

i had the shot after my amnio, and will have it again @ 28wks, and i think after delivery too.

If you had some bleeding, you got the shot as a precaution.
I got mine today - it didn't hurt at all.

If you are bleeding you will get it early. I am not sure why you were in the ER missed your post, but if it involved blood that is why. You might get the shot again at 28 weeks.

Any time I went to the ER they gave me the shot. They told me that if I was having any issues where the symptoms could indicate the boby's blood was causing a reaction they gave the shot. I had it 4 times during my PG.
