Am I being too negative?
I am excited about starting my 100mg cycle of clomid and hopefully having an IUI done (as well as lots of BDing). However, I can't help but be pessimistic knowing that odds aren't in my favor and that the chances of a BFP are slim. How do I get rid of negative feelings without being too hopeful to only be let down? (Am I making sense?)

Re: Am I being too negative?
I know it's really hard to be positive when things weren't good before. Good luck, try to relax.

Re: Am I being too negative?
I think it's only natural to be negative when you struggle month after month and your body doesn't do what you want it to... Please keep your chin up - remember that kid's book w/ the choo choo train from when you were little? "I think I can I think I can" --- "I know I can I know I can"!!!!!!!

Re: Am I being too negative?
I've been feeling negative lately myself, but I really try to go into each new cycle feeling hopeful. When I had my first IUI I said "oh no way it will work the first time," I told DH not to get his hopes up. But it did work! Now, the end results were not good, but it was reassuring to know that it does work for us. So what I'm trying to say is, you can be one of the ones it works for!!

Thanks, Lauren
I know you're right. I guess I just do this as a "defense mechanism" so I don't get hurt. How horrible is that? Did your first IUI work? Were you on clomid? And did you BD, too?
I am PRAYING this cycle works for the two of us!!

Re: Am I being too negative?
I hate to say this but after a while Murphy's Law applies. Expect nothing and you won't be disappointed. I tend to be a pessimist so I expect that each cycle will not work and if it does I will be shocked and of course pleasantly surprised. I guess that's just my coping style.

Re: Am I being too negative?
Yes, it was my first IUI and it did work. I didn't get the end results I wanted though. That cycle I did 150mg clomid and got 5 follies. We did BD also - the night of the IUI and the day after.
