Wills?
A post on the parenting board got me thinking...
Where do you go to get a will drawn up? Can we just do it at home and have it notarized?
What does it cost? Does cost depend on how complicated your estate is?
TIA!

Re: Wills?
I was just saying this, we need to have one drawn up for sure.
I made one up myself, not official I know, but better than nothing and at least our parents would know what we wanted (and would hopefully respect that).

Definitely go to a lawyer. I'd ask family and friends for their recommendations. You need an actual person in case anything does happen. They should also update the will periodically. The firm we use sends out a yearly questionnaire to see if the will should be updated based upon any changes in the laws or our personal situaiton.
It does depend upon how complicated your estate is. If you have assets over a certain amount (and don't forget pensions and 401Ks) it may be advisable to set up a trust so you avoid estate tax.
You should get:
will health care proxy living will power of attorney
