Male IF - Dr. Sarah Girardi
I am still very new to all of this... I had my second appt. with my RE today. DH had his SA on Friday and they gave us the results today at the appt. Apparently, DH had no sperm. They are now making him go to this IF urologist - Dr. Sarah Girardi. Does anyone know anything about her?? Has anyone ever been through this before??
They are also making me go through a Hysterogram... Does anyone know why?? And what is that exactly?? They explained it briefly at the RE but I was just wondering what exactly it's for?
This has been some day for DH and I!!

We are also dealing with male IF. I had a HSG and other tests done to ensure that there was nothing wrong with me. The doctor is doing it to be sure you're fine. It would be much worse for the doctor not to do it and find out in a year from now that you have blocked tubes. It stinks, but at least the doctor is being thorough.

First off  It's important for you DH to follow up with a urologist to find out why his SA came out the way it did. A repeat SA will probably also need to be done to see if the results change. As for the testing for you, the HSG will make sure that your tubes are clear for fertilization and transport of the egg. It's basically an X ray of your uterus and tubes done with an injectable dye for contrast. It's an important test in your fertility work up. Best of luck!

We saw her. She is a great dr. One of the best on LI dealing with male infertility. Our RE would only allow us to see her b/c of that. DH felt very relaxed with her.

We also have Male IF. After DH was tested I still had to have a HSG done. IMO it's always best to have testing done on yourself also just to make sure you have no issues too. Good Luck!!!

We are dealing with only male infertility. We used Dr. Mellinger in Garden City. He was great! I had to go through the HSG test also, it wasn't as bad as it sounds. Take 3 advils an hr. before the test. Good luck!

we are seeing her too. Went went last month and have a follow up next week. She was really nice and knew what she was talking about. She also wasn't quick to jump to drastic measures unless nessecary. I really really like her so far!
