low lying placenta??

I started to bleed yesterday while at work... I called the dr. (he was delivering a baby) I had to wait for his call backChat IconChat Icon Chat Icon
I was still bleeding bad, I told DH to bring me to the hospital, on our way the dr. called. We went to the office instead....
The baby is good but I have a low lying placenta that started to move and tear (that's way I'm bleeding).

I'm 14 weeks pg and have a prior c-section. I just pray that if the placenta still want to move it does not tear much more or I could lose this baby....Chat Icon

i have to say, i'm pretty surprised. As i mentioned earlier, i have low lying placenta and my doctor didn't make a big deal out of it at all. She said it's nothing to worry about yet and hopefully by 28 weeks it moves up.

She said if it doesn't, i could have some bleeding towards the end. But if i do, it wouldn't be hurtful to me or the baby unless it was A LOT.

how many weeks are you?

Re: low lying placenta??

SO this is what happened... I started to bleed, went to DR., he told me I have a low lying placenta that teared - causing the bleeding. I went back on Thurdsday for a follow up. My placenta is low but better than first thought. The blood clot caused by the tear looked I had placenta previa, but the clot was gone. The placenta is also on the other side of my c-section scar, so that is better news!!

But, everytime I have a growth spurt, the placenta might or might not tear again. so I'm only 15 weeks, this is going to be a long pregnancy!!!!

i was diagnosed with a low lying placenta when i went for my level II 2 weeks ago. my dr said since i havent had any bleeding, he wasnt changing anything for me as far as bedrest, and that hopefully it will move up. they will keep monitoring it to see if it moves.
