Its my due date and...
NOTHING!!!!
I went to my appointment today and there has been no change..not dilating and not effacing. They did a sonogram and there is plenty of fluid...which is good. My next appts will be Wednesday and then Friday. If I don't give birth this week..they want to induce on Monday...
I want to wait to Friday and then discuss with them (if everything is still good with me and baby) if we can wait it out instead of inducing.
Is there a reason why they don't want you to go past 41 weeks? Am I risking something if I want to go past it?
Well...its a matter of time...in the meantime...I am walking, drinking tea, ect. just see if anything works.

I've so BTDT!! Ella was 10 days late - my practice lets you go to 42 weeks if need be.
You don't HAVE to be induced at 41 weeks if you don't want to be - as long as the baby is healthy, and not too big. The threat of inducing may be enough to get things moving (worked for me!)

i have read that the risks start at 42 weeks, but i know each doctor has an individual preference. the waiting must be tough! good luck to you

Most doctors like to induce after a week, but it is safe to wait 2 weeks (after 2 weeks complications are more likely). If you want to wait (which I think is a great idea) they will send you for sonos every couple of days to make sure everything is OK.
Keep in mind that the average gestation period for a first-time mom is 41 weeks, so there is no reason to rush to an induction. Do a google search on Bishop's Scores -- this is a scale that determines how successful an induction is likely to be -- this may help you make up your mind on whether or not you want to agree to an induction.

Mine too..now I go three times a week..went yesterday, return tomorrow and then again friday....how are you feeling?

Still waiting - get the occassional cramp and I think "is this it???" and then nothing.... so frustrating.
I'm home from work now and walking, tried the eggplant, tried chinese, been bouncing on my yoga ball...
