I had my "3/4D" Neuchal Sono today
...and I had the coldest technician ever! First, I was disappointed because I thought it was a real pic like I see everyone else has but it was just like a clearer sonogram. They said that its because the baby is too small for that type of pic just yet.
Second, the tech wouldn't move the screen so I could hardly see anything from my position, so I kept hearing DH say "aww if that a foot? awww is that an arm? ..ohhh look at the hands" but I couldn't see really.
Third the witch tech REFUSED to tell or even guess the baby's gender or tell me if everything looked ok/normal
Lastly, when I was driving out of the parking lot I came to a rolling stop at a stop sign (safley though) and some jerk walking nearby proceeded to yell at me and call me an illiterate biyotch because "I obviously couldn't read the sign that says STOP".
I cried for about 15 minutes after all of that thanks to my crazy hormones!

I've never had that experience with Madonna in Babylon. Actually I've found them to be the most professional.
They would never tell me if things looked "normal" or "abnormal" but that's because they aren't allowed to. They are technicians, not doctors.
Anyway, sorry you had such a bad experience!

Re: I had my "3/4D" Neuchal Sono today
that's horrible!! mine had this HUGE tv screen in the front of the room so I could see everything. she told me what gender the baby is, and she was playing around with him. I had such a great experience until the doctor came in. she was indian too and slammed the stupid thing into my stomach and was putting so much pressure on my belly. I did not like her at all, BUT they both told me everything looked good. I feel bad for you

Re: I had my "3/4D" Neuchal Sono today
i'm sorry you had such a bad experience
but the nuchal translucency is just a regular sonogram--maybe a little clearer depending on where you have it done. the 3D ones are given later if you choose to pay for it. they usually aren't given otherwise unless you're high risk or have a really nice doctor that has one of the machines in his office
also, techs are not allowed to tell you if things look good or bad. only doctors can do that. although it's disappointing, it's for the best because they are not trained to make such decisions. imagine if they told you it looked fine but it turns out there's a big problem.
all the techs i have had for my nuchal and 2 level twos at madonna were cold. i wasn't too pleased and i just kept sitting up a little so i could see the screen. i didn't really care what she thought about that. i truly think the techs are told not to be emotional toward the patient and to keep it very clinical. i think it's part of their job description so they don't say anything they're not supposed to or give false hope to someone. it stinks for us, but i understand it.
