My boss can't pressure me to leave, right?
He is SO worried that I'm going to give birth here at the office he keeps asking when I'm stopping work. I told him I'm taking it day by day and he says (on more than one occasion) "I really don't think you should go into labor at the office".

Next time he says that, tell him that you will gladly stay home if he will pay you and not deduct anytime from your maternity leave. That should shut him up.

ITA! or tell him if your water breaks while you are working you'll be sure to tell him so he can hire a carpet cleaning crew.

he DOES realize that the baby doesn't just drop out of you unannounced, right

That's what I tried to explain. He asked me previously if I've made arrangements if I start having the baby in my office. I said, "now what does that mean?". He said, "I don't know - what does one do in such a situation?"
I said, should something happen here, my understanding is that it won't happen in a matter of minutes and I'll have plenty of time to get to my hospital.
He apparently doesn't believe me.
I do plan to explain the concept of leave and daycare to him next time he brings it up. He's a little out of touch with reality when it comes to that - he thinks everyone has unlimited funds and resources and a staff to handle such things - such as children

Ugh, he sounds as annoying as my boss is when it comes to pregnancy. I don't know how one can be so ignorant. Does he realize that women around the world work right up until they go into labor and it's rarely an issue?

Maybe he is concerned that he doesn't want to deliver a baby. Promise him that he won't have to do it.

I hope to work right up to the end too...I sure hope my water doesn't break here, although I'm 5 minutes away from Winthrop so that might not be such a bad thing
