Hospital bag

How much clothes did you pack for yourself?

Also, are you packing your boppy and BF cream or do you think they give you it (cream)?

Re: Hospital bag

I just packed my bag! I packed two nightgowns, sweats and a shirt, a robe, socks, undies, and eventually I will add something to come home in. I probably overpacked, but that is the story of my life. I have a big question mark on my list next to boppy. I am not sure about this. I'm curious about what most people are doing about it.

What kind of nightgowns? For nursing? I can't decide if I want all pants b/c I can't find a dark nursing friendly nightshirt.

Re: Hospital bag

I brought one night gown. It's not a nursing one, but it has a lower sort of neck. It's black and I got it at target. I had a hard time finding nursing gowns in dark colors and this was the best I found.
I also packed 4 pairs of comfy/pj pants, a couple tees, nursing tanks, etc. I still don't know what I am going to wear home but I figure I will just wear something comfy.
I am definitely bringing my boppy as I was told it is a must. I packed a tube of the lansinoh just in case but I'm hoping to get some at the hospital too.

I just got done packing before.

Extra Pillow
Bar of Dove soap
Deordorant
Shampoo/conditioner
face lotion
Toothpaste
Toothbrush
brush
srunchies
3 pairs of socks
6 pairs of underwear
3 sports bras (I'll be breast feeding but I can just lift up the sports bra. I find them comfty)
chapstick
sanitizer for germies

3 pairs of PJ's (I know I'll only use 2 at the most)
slippers
3 during the day outfits cause my PJ's are only for night time. The outfits are my maternity jogging/velor suits. Therefore I didn't spend money buying anything new.

Baby's coming home outfit

Video camera
Nikon camera
Sony camera

If I am getting induced I will be bringing a portable DVD player and Sex in the city DVD's. I've never seen the first 3 Seasons.

*** Since I absolutely HATE hospital beds I'll be bringing a snoogle for extra comfort. I don't use the boppy but if you plan on using yours then totally bring it with you.

That's everything in my bag.

I found a few nightgowns at Kohls that have buttons. They were a lot cheaper than nursing gowns.

Re: Hospital bag

I highly recommend bringing the Boppy. I was very glad to have mine. The night I was in labor DH used it for a pillow to get some rest. Then I used it as an extra pillow when I wasn't nursing. It was a Godsend after the c-section to help me sitting in a chair also.

Re: Hospital bag

I completely overpacked... all you really need are socks, comfy underwear, and a pair or two of pajamas and toileteries so you can take your shower. Make sure you do have a few pairs of socks and underwear in case of C-section but you don't have to go nuts your not going to be up to changing constanlty trust me.

Re: Hospital bag

I did not bring my boppy or the cream. They supply the cream there if you need it. Also, remember to pack flip flops for the shower.

I packed one going home outfit and one set of PJ's. Boppy and essentials for me including breast pads and cream, however didn't need it. I think being a first time mom and nursing I would bring the cream.

Re: Hospital bag

And did you put baby's coming home outfit in your bag or wrap it separately? Baby's outfit is all cleaned with Dreft - will my stuff "contaminate it"?

I just started packing and I know I'm going to overpack. So far I have:

1 bathrobe
1 pair slippers with rubber soles
1 pair slipper socks with non-skid bottom
1 pair pajamas
4 pairs undies
maxi pads (overnights)

I have to go to the store and get myself a coming home outfit, a gown or two, a couple of bras.
