FYI: Myth Busters tried a LOT of the claims about coke on an eppisode and they were all false.
The coke cleans the rust of a battery just as good as the water did simply because it is a liquid.
But yes, we should all drink more water. After all, the original "ingredient X" in coke was just that, coke. It however, was replaced -- a long time ago.

Could you imagine people today having a coke from yesteryear while at lunch and coming back to work stoned? Wait, some people do this without the soft drink, don't they!
